My journey seems to be changing direction. I guess it is time that I do some growing and changing.

Normally I do not share what is going on in my life. However, I feel like I need to share what has been happening lately because I know I am not alone.

Recently my husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer. He is young to be going through this but a brainscan tells the story. At long last I know why the changes I've seen happening the last couple of years. It has helped me be more understanding and not take things so personally.

There will be changes but one thing will not change. I will not stop loving him. It is a bittersweet time for both of us but love will survive.

Store Dance

In the aisle of the store
The tinny sound of music
Coming from a stuffed toy animal

You grab my hand
Wrapping a strong arm around my waist
We dance

A shopper smiles
Asking if she can cut in
We laugh

Later I tell you how sweet
Dancing with me in the store
You cannot remember

I will remember that dance
As well as the love song that played
From our hearts
While we waited to pickup the prescription
That may slow down your mind
From going completely
