Painting Goodbye With Words
In my last entry I talked about memories and missing my dad. There are also other people who at time I miss and Meme is one of those people. Yet, she is not really gone because she lives on in my memory. I can close my eyes and see her with brush in hand painting something which will most likely be a gift for someone. Meme painted the world with beauty wherever she went.
Writing here sometimes the line wrap where they should not but I hope you enjoy the poem and can close your eyes and see a woman as she paints. See a woman as she paints her world and maybe even be inspired to bring a little more beauty into your own life.
tubes of paint arranged neatly in a row waiting to have the life squeezed out of them. brushes of all sizes and shapes sitting in the jar waiting for her hand to caress them an unfinished project of love waiting forever waitingfor just a moment I see her there as she lovingly makes the strokes with her brushes salty tears falling into the paint as she lovingly paints a goodbye this project is all she has left to give of herself and she knows time is running outI look at the tubes of paint silently arranged neatly in a row waiting the brushes jauntily sticking out the top of the jar like flowers she will never see the room is silent, she is not there silently I walk out of her shrine leaving the emptiness behind to lovingly paint with words a goodbye copyright © 2002 |
