Yesterday the sun was out and it was unusually warm for this time of year. It was a Golden day. Today it was a good twenty degrees cooler and rainy. Not a good day for riding a bike. But a Golden day none the less. We ate strawberry icecream and dreamed about the summer days ahead of us when we can get out and enjoy nature. Hubby talked me into buying him a new bike and we have spent many golden moments riding when the weather is nice. Both of us are so caught up in the moment that we even forget that he has Alzheimer. As we make plans for the summer I realize that there are still many Golden moments waiting for us. We only have to get out of bed and be awake to find them. The moments do not necessarily have to be anything spectacular like winning the lottery. They can be moments spent watching the wildlife or sharing a soda while resting for a moment. I also have the comfort of knowing that although the Alzheimer is changing him that some things will never change. We can still have fun and enjoy life to the fullest. And I think some things may never change like our sense of humor.
